Author Guidelines

The GSI Journal of Epidemiology and Public Health Promotion invites high-quality, original research to advance the fields of epidemiology and public health. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, please follow these detailed guidelines.


Manuscript Categories

We accept submissions in the following categories:

  • Research Articles: Comprehensive presentations of original findings in epidemiology, health promotion, or public health studies.
  • Review Papers: In-depth analyses of specific topics within public health or epidemiological research.
  • Case Studies: Detailed examinations of real-world public health interventions or innovative methodologies.
  • Short Communications: Brief reports on preliminary findings or novel concepts in public health and epidemiology.

Preparation of Manuscripts

Formatting

  • Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word or LaTeX.
  • Use a clear, readable font (minimum size 11 points) with double-spacing.
  • Include consecutive line numbering throughout the manuscript.

Structure

Organize your manuscript as follows:

  1. Title: Concise and informative, reflecting the study’s focus.
  2. Abstract: A 200–250-word summary of the study’s objectives, methods, findings, and significance.
  3. Keywords: Include 5–7 keywords representing the primary themes of the article.
  4. Introduction: Contextualize the study, highlighting background, objectives, and research significance.
  5. Materials and Methods: Provide sufficient detail for replication of the study.
  6. Results: Present findings, supported by relevant tables and figures.
  7. Discussion: Analyze results, linking them to existing research and their implications for the field.
  8. Conclusions: Summarize key findings and propose directions for future research.
  9. References: Use the APA citation style for all references.

Figures and Tables

  • Embed figures and tables at appropriate points within the manuscript.
  • Each figure and table must include a concise, descriptive caption.
  • High-resolution images are required for publication.

Submission Process

Online Submission

Submit your manuscript via the GSI Journal of Epidemiology and Public Health Promotion online submission system.

  • First-time users: Register an account before submission.

Cover Letter

Include a cover letter addressing:

  • The manuscript’s significance to epidemiology and public health promotion.
  • Confirmation that the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

Peer Review

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure objectivity, quality, and relevance.


Publication Ethics

Originality

  • Submissions must be entirely original and not under review elsewhere.
  • All data sources and influential studies must be acknowledged and cited.

Plagiarism

  • The journal has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Manuscripts breaching this policy will be rejected.

Authorship

  • All authors must have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.
  • Proper acknowledgment of non-author contributors is required.

Post-Acceptance

Final Submission

After acceptance, authors must submit the finalized version of their manuscript, including figures and tables in their final form.

Open Access License

Authors must agree to an open access license, permitting unrestricted sharing and use of the published work with proper attribution.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The journal operates under an open access model and requires an APC upon acceptance. Details about APC amounts and payment procedures will be provided post-acceptance.

  • Any conflicts of interest are disclosed.

Authorship

✅ Author Contributions:

  • All authors who contributed significantly to the research are listed.

✅ Corresponding Author:

  • The corresponding author’s contact information is provided and verified.

Cover Letter

✅ Inclusion:

  • A cover letter is included, summarizing:
    • The manuscript’s significance to the field of epidemiology and public health promotion.
    • Confirmation of originality.

Article Processing Charge (APC) Acknowledgment

✅ Acknowledgment:

  • Confirmation that an Article Processing Charge (APC) will be payable upon acceptance to cover publication costs (if applicable).
